Let’s face it. We all have a tried a DIY, one time or another. It doesn’t matter if we succeeded in creating what we wanted or we didn’t, what matters is that we tried. There always comes a time when you are obsessed with DIYs and want to try every single one that you come across. However, as you look towards, your so called Craft Box’, you notice how empty it is and that you definitely can’t make that awesome DIY you chose.
Don’t fret, to save you from your trouble, here is a list of crafting supplies that you definitely need in your craft box. Make sure you have them before going on your crafting spree.
• The Essentials — (Scissors, Glue, Tape, markers/pens, pencils, paper)
These are absolutely necessary, if you don’t have them, you shouldn’t be searching for DIYs in the first place. These need to be in your house. Scissors are the life of crafts, there isn’t a single craft you can do without them. Glue and tape; without them, you can’t, under any circumstances, be able to join two things together. Pens, pencils, and paper; for all your sketching and drawing needs, these are particularly important if you need to draw a template before doing something. All these supplies usually come in handy when you are making friendship cards, paper crafts or drawing crafts.
• The Sew Squad — (Needle, Thread, Measuring tape, Buttons/Velcro)
If you have ever dabbled in sewing crafts, then you definitely know how important these craft supplies are. If you want to sew something, then buying these are your top priority.Needles and thread; you can’t stitch anything without them. Measuring tape; every sewing crafts pattern has measurements and you need measuring tape to measure your cloth. Buttons/Velcro: if you are making pencil cases and/or pouches, you cannot complete them without these itsy bitsy things. They bring your whole case together. So, if you ever want to make a sewing craft, make sure you have these.
• The Secondary — (Gems, Glitter, Mason jars, Decorative items, etc..)
These are not very necessary, although it would be really good to have them. These vary from crafts to crafts and depend on the type of DIY you choose.Gems/Glitter; if you are making one of those glittery crafts then you definitely need these. It is good to buy them in advance, after all, a little glitter hurts nobody. Mason jars; most crafts require these, especially crafts like cookies in a jar, candles, etc.. One good thing about them, is that they can be found in your house.
Decorative items really depend on your DIY, so it’s okay not to have them in advance. Other craft supplies include polymer clay, candle wax, small containers, etc..
